We took a family trip to Warwick Castle with our new Merlin Annual Passes and had an amazing day. The sun was out and it was warm too this made so much of a change after all this rain we have had.
The boys are into their armoury, so the amazing talk by Ben on swords, maces, bows and guns went down a treat especially as they got to handle replica weapons.
The Merlin: Dragon Tower was also fabulous it was great as the boys know the characters Merlin, Gaius, Prince Arthur and the great dragon. Though, I can’t tell you what happens because I have been enchanted.
I was disappointed that we didn’t get to go into the Dungeons the boys were to scared. Next time I visit Warwick Castle will go in by myself.
My only problem with our visit is that I am petrified of heights. So climbing up the towers were, for me, a challenge and a half. Clarence Tower I could just about cope with but once up it was one way traffic only over the ramparts, into an up into Guys Tower, my husband and boys were most supportive. I was nearly in tears climbing up the teeny tiny stairs. I know that the tower wasn’t moving but I felt as though it was. My husband couldn’t understand how I could feel so scared even if I couldn’t see out, for me it possibly made it worse. Helter Skelter comes to mind, the freak me out too. By the time I reached the top I had broke into a full of cold sweat and shakes. It wasn’t pretty, I think people thought I was freaking for no apparent reason as I was clinging to the walls. Then I had to go down the next flight of spiral staircase. Not my most favourite part of the day but I did it nevertheless.
